On July 5, an (enlarged) meeting of Sun Yat-sen University Party Committee Standing Committee was held to learn the spirits of President Hu Jintao’s important speech at the meeting commemorating the 90th anniversary of the founding of Chinese Communist Party in room 701, Zhongshan Buliding, South Campus. The conference also studied the deployment of carrying out spirits of President Hu’s speech in the next stage of work. The conference was hosted by Secretary Zheng Detao. All leaders of SYSU and assistants to the president were present at the conference.

The conference concluded that we should combine the spirits of President Hu’s speech with SYSU’s development. First, we should combine the them with the construction of learning Party organizations and study to comprehende the spirits of the speech through carriers of theoretical study, such as study class for the secondary secretaries of the Party Committee and SYSU Party Committee central group. Second, we should combine them with the excel activities and push forward grass-roots Party building under the guidance ofguidance of the spirits. Third, we should combine them with propelling key tasks, and especially integrate them into formulating the 12th Five-Year Plan. Fourth, we should combine them with livelihood issues and make great efforts topropel all the proposals in the 5th Meeting of 7th TeacherRepresentative Conference and 18th Staff Rrepresentative Conference.

The University is going to organize all the faculty, students and staff to study and implement the spirits of President Hu’s important speech at the meeting commemorating the 90th anniversary of the founding of Chinese Communist Party in various ways, which will definitely promote the construction of SYSU as a top university.
