On the morning of March 16, Professor Ivey, director of Vanderbilt University of US Curb Center for Art, Enterprise, and Public Policy (Curb Center) and Chen Yuexiu, the principal assistant of Vanderbilt University, visited Sun Yat-sen University. The Standing Vice Secretary Liang Qingyin had a friendly talk with the guests.

Professor Ivey reviewed the cooperation between Curb Center and Institute of Chinese Intangible Cultural heritages, SYSU since 2009, looked forward to the plans of cooperating and studying in folklore and the intangible cultural heritages protection in the future, and expected more cooperation in other fields. The Standing Vice Secretary Liang Qingyin said Vanderbilt University enjoys a high reputation in US and there is a similarity in disciplines setting between SYSU and Vanderbilt University. A great potential in cooperation can be found between the two sides. Scholars from the two universities will further their communication in the future.
Vanderbilt University was founded in 1873. It is a private research university located in Nashville, Tennessee and famous for its high quality of education and strong scientific research ability. It enjoys a good reputation of “Harvard in the south” and ranked 17^th in the 2010 US Universities.
