June 30 is the first day for poverty alleviation in Guangdong. On this day, over 30 secretaries of the party committee from partial schools and departments as well as the affiliated hospitals of SYSU, led by the university deputy secretary Li Ping, carried out an activity to help the poor in Qingkou Village of Zijin County in Heyuan city, which is the counterpart of SYSU’s poverty alleviation.

The secondary secretaries of the party committee, who took part in this activity, visited their responsible poverty-stricken households to express their sympathy. The medical team of SYSU Guanghua Stomatological Hospital went along to conduct volunteer medical consultation, giving treatments for stomatological diseases and sanitary inspections to the pupils and some villagers. In addition, the First Affiliated Hospital had sent doctors to give medical treatments to the counterpart poor households.
