On the afternoon of May 9, 2015, the national final of the 12th KPMG Corporate Culture Case Analysis Competition was held in Southern Software Park, Zhuhai. The competition was cohosted by SYSU Youth Association, the CYL Zhuhai Municipal Committee, Lingnan College of Sun Yat-sen University and Zhuhai Enterprise Culture Association, and was organized by the Student Union of Lingnan College on Zhuhai Campus.
The theme of this year's competition is “concision”, which implies breaking the chains of commercial activities and pursuing the conciseness of trade. Eleven universities took part in the national final, namely Tsinghua University, Xiamen University, University of Science and Technology of China, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, South China University of Technology, Jinan University, Macau University of Science and Technology, Hong Kong Baptist University, South China Agricultural University, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, and Sun Yat-sen University. These teams rivaled with each other and displayed to the audience an amazing academic contest.
Opposing questioning
The final consisted of three parts: English presentation, opposing questioning and situation simulation. By analyzing corporate culture from various perspectives, the participants perfectly interpreted the given theme. With focus on corporate culture, each team looked into the future development of the enterprise in question and competed intensely with each other with the sparkles of ideas during their analysis, displaying outstanding language competence, reasoning ability, research and analysis capability and perfect teamwork.
After fierce competition, the LNJD team from Sun Yat-sen University won the champion. Its members are six students at Lingnan College: Liu Zijia, Zhou Zhencheng, Dong Haoxuan, Lai Kaijia, Fang Yuanhao and Zhao Jiaying. The Avengers team from South China University of Technology was the runner-up, and the M.E. team from South China Agricultural University was the second runner-up. Li Xiaojun, a member of the team “I can” from Macau University of Science and Technology, won the honor of “Best Contestant”.

Among the attendees were Ms. Luo Jianying, Partner of Tax Department of KPMG, Guangzhou, Mr. Liang Jianqi and Ms. Cai Hua from Human Resources Department of KPMG, Guangzhou; Mr. Wang Xiaobin, Secretary of the CYL Zhuhai Municipal Committee; Mr. Xiao Li, Deputy Secretary of SYSU Youth Association, Mr. Sun Xijiong, President of Zhuhai Enterprise Culture Association, Prof. Lu Jun, Associate Dean of Lingnan College, and Mr. Yu Liren, Deputy Party Secretary of Lingnan College.
The panel of judges consisted of Prof. Wang Fenggui from South China Agricultural University, Associate Professor Tang Dongping from South China University of Technology, Prof. Xia Nanxin and Dr. Huang He from Lingnan College, Dr. Wang Deyou, President of EasyCare Group, Mr. He Xiong, Vice General Manager of Zhuhai JinYe Hotel Co., Ltd. and Deputy President of Zhuhai Trainers Association.
The Corporate Culture Case Analysis Competition provides students with a platform to present their capabilities and improve themselves. As a brand activity of SYSU and well-received by students in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao for many years, this competition features the combination of academic research and social practice. It is dedicated to cultivating commercial talents with elite awareness, creativity and teamwork spirit. Since it was first held, the competition has expanded its scale, attracting teams from famous universities around the country and winning a favorable reputation.
