President Huang Daren, vice-president Xu Ningsheng, director of SYSU first affiliated hospital Wang Shenming and secretary of the Party committee Yan Churong welcomed guests and had a in depth discussion with them on the North Campus.
University Texas Southwestern Med Center USA is a world-famous medical and academic organization, and it plays a leading role in scientific research around the world. Its research team, led by four Nobel Prize winners, has done a great contribution to the field of biomedicine. Moreover, University Texas Southwestern Med Center USA is also famous for its first-class medical service.
According to the agreement, both sides will carry out cooperation in the fields of post-doctoral studies, training young doctors and scientific research. As the first step, the SYSU first affiliated hospital will send five to ten postdoctoral students every year to University Texas Southwestern Med Center USA to have further studies, which will take two to three years. Then, both sides will enlarge the cooperative fields gradually, including staff training, clinical observation, co-holding international academic meeting and jointly applying research funds, etc. This is the first time that the SYSU first affiliated hospital has comprehensive cooperation with famous medical organization abroad, marking the milestone in its progress. The exchanges between both sides will promote the academic research and medical standard, which will have far-reaching influence in the hospital's development.
